Simon Tong

Simon Tong is a Principal Engineer at Google working in machine learning. He earned his Ph.D. in computer science at Stanford University in 2001 with a dissertation on active learning, supervised by Daphne Koller. In 2010 he described on the Google Research blog "Seti", a large-scale machine learning classification system widely used inside Google. His more recent publications include work on the GLaM language model and the Gemini 2.5 technical report.
