Anurag Acharya

Anurag Acharya is a Distinguished Engineer at Google and one of the founders of Google Scholar, which he launched in 2004 with Alex Verstak. Before working on Google Scholar, he led Google's indexing group. He holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur and a Ph.D. in computer science from Carnegie Mellon University, and was an assistant professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara, before joining Google.
